UCF Athletics and Track Shack have partnered up to create the U Can Finish Races. The event is presented by Florida Hospital to benefit UCF's 4Ever Knights Student Alumni Association as well as the Track Shack Foundation.
According to a press release, the races are expected to bring more than 3,000 runners, walkers and UCF alumni and students to the campus on Oct. 18. The races have been divided into three separate distances: a five-mile at 7:30 a.m., two-mile at 8 a.m. and Florida Hospital Healthy Kids' Run at 9:30 a.m. Racers will also have the opportunity to run a seven-mile Distance Dare, which combines the five and two mile races, at 7:30 a.m.
Racers will start and finish at the Bright House Networks Stadium, and charge through the campus and athletic facilities as they are cheered on by UCF Athletics teams along the designated route.
Registered participants will receive a football ticket to the Oct. 24 game against Houston or Nov. 19 matchup against East Carolina and a souvenir t-shirt designed by a student. Runners who partake in the five-mile race and the Distance Dare will receive finishers' medals, according to the release.
The largest team of walkers and runners competing in the UCF Student Challenge will win a $500 cash prize toward their organization. All campus organizations and students are eligible for the UCF Student Challenge, and the minimum number of participants must be at least 15 to be eligible for the prize.
Registration and pricing are available online at TrackShack.com.
