TBT isn't only an acronym for throwback selfies, but also for a $1 million basketball tournament.

Former UCF men's basketball players Jermaine Taylor, Keith Clanton and Dwight McCombs are gearing up to earn the $1 million grand prize in The Basketball Tournament.

The Basketball Tournament is an open-application, 5-on-5, single elimination basketball tournament that started last year, according to a release.

There will be 97 teams from four regions that will take part in the tournament. Taylor, Clanton and McCombs are representing different teams, but they will all play in the South Region, which will be held at Clayton State Athletic & Fitness Center in Atlanta, Georgia, from July 10-12.

During his 2005-09 season, Taylor was UCF's all-time Division 1 scoring leader with over 1,900 points. He will play for Team BDB.

Clanton, UCF's all-time leading rebounder from 2009-13, is on the roster for Team Krossover PPI, while McCombs, Clanton's teammate from 2010-12, will represent the HBC squad in the Atlanta Tournament.

There will be 24 teams competing this weekend and only four will advance to the Super 17 Regional in Chicago from July 23-25.

The winner from each region will move on to play in the championships, which will take place in New York City from August 1-2 and be aired on ESPN.

Taylor's team is set to kick off the first games of the tournament on Friday at 2:30 p.m., against the SC Upstate Redhawks. McCombs' and Clanton's teams will start their rounds in The Basketball Tournament on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. and 5:45 p.m., respectively.
