One week removed from the Knights' best finish of the season, they took on a tough pack of teams and walked away tied for 11th place. It was UCF's last tuneup of the regular season before the American Athletic Conference Championship swings into action.
The field was ousted by No. 25 New Mexico at 26-under, and UCF's 5-over was not enough to knock off No. 2 Texas, No. 5 Illinois or No. 19 Oklahoma State, among others in the 15-team event
Sophomore Ryan Stovash topped the leaderboard for UCF for the fourth-consecutive event as he finished the tied for 20th in the 78-player field. He shot 3-under 213 through three rounds.
Senior Linus Vaisanen finished tied for 42nd with a 2-over 218 after having dropped 12 spots due to a final round of 3-over 75. Sophomore Federico Zucchetti finished another three strokes back with a 5-over 221. He finished tied for 52nd. Freshman Manuel Elvira shot 8-over 224 and landed in a tie for 61st, while senior Jose Joia closed out the Knights tied for 68th with a 12-over 228.
The Knights will begin the American Athletic Conference Championship tournament on April 26 in Lecanto, Fla.
