After catching seven interceptions throughout the season, sophomore cornerback Jacoby Glenn snagged the American Athletic Conference's Defensive Player of the Year honor on Wednesday.
Glenn posted a banner season, which included 11 pass breaks and seven interceptions - both of which were good for third nationally. The sophomore became the first UCF player to earn conference offensive or player of the year honors as a freshman or sophomore. Last season, Glenn was named a freshman All-American by the Football Writers Association of America.
Glenn also earned a spot on the American's First Team. Joining him on the defense are senior captains Terrance Plummer and Clayton Geathers. Plummer led the Knights in tackles, and Geathers had a sack, an interception and a forced fumble.
Offensively, junior Breshad Perriman and sophomore William Stanback earned roster spots.
Stanback scored 12 touchdowns (10 rushing, two receiving) and Perriman averaged more than 22 yards per catch and scored nine touchdowns on the season.
Four Knights also earned second team honors. Seniors Brandon Alexander, Jaryl Mamea and Torrian Wilson were joined by junior Thomas Niles.
