If you're thinking of going out to eat on Friday, and would also like to help raise money for a great cause, you may want to consider going to Chick-fil-A.
The UCF Police Department will be taking part in the Tip-A-Cop event by collecting money in support of Special Olympics Florida, starting at the Chick-fil-A on University Boulevard and Rouse Road at 11:30 a.m.
According to a press release, officers will fundraise on the drive-thru line and inside the restaurant to help raise awareness and funds for the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics — the largest grass-roots fundraiser for the Special Olympics, raising more than $461 million worldwide.
"Officers will shadow Chick-fil-A employees and speak with patrons about the Special Olympics," the release states. "Anyone who would like to give to the cause can donate a 'tip.'"
This year, UCF PD has raised $9,560 for the Torch Run, and participated in the annual State Summer Games at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex earlier this month.
