10 Valentine's Day events to treat your sweetheart

From brainstorming an escape from a trap room to learning about mythological love stories in a planetarium, here are some date ideas to treat your sweetheart to on Valentine's Day.
1. Indie-Folkfest at the Mennello Museum
What: A family folk picnic that features local music, art and food. The Mennello Museum has partnered with East End Market and 4Rivers Smokehouse for food. Local musicians include JUNOSmile, Steve Garron Threesome, Eugene Snowden & Friends, Terri Binion, Kaleigh Baker and Brown Bag Brass Band.
When: Feb. 13 from noon to 5 p.m.
Where: The Sculpture Garden of The Mennello Museum of American Art, 900 E. Princeton St.

2. DRIP's 'The Blind-Date: An Adventure for Couples'
What: Recreate the excitement of your first date with DRIP as they host a night of interactive couple games. The event includes artistic activities, a complimentary paint station, a live band, DJ, full theatrical DRIP show and a special edition t-shirt. “We wanted to create moments for loved ones that they could remember as a time they became closer,” said Jessica Marko, DRIP founder.
When: Feb. 11 to Feb. 14 from 8 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.

3. Aero's 'Under the Stars Party'
What: Mingle, dance and meet others under the stars with complimentary Stella Artois and Stella Cidre. 21 and older only.
When: Feb. 12 from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Where: Aero Bar, 60 N. Orange Ave.
4. Beauty and the Beast at Enzian Theater
What: The Enzian Theater will be celebrating the love holiday with a showing of the 1946 French classic Beauty and the Beast. No worries, mon cheri, they promise to include English subtitles.
When: Feb. 13 at noon
Where: Enzian Theater | 1300 S. Orlando Ave.
Cost: $8 with student ID
5. Valentine’s Concert @ Leu Gardens
What: Pack a picnic, bring a blanket and stroll through the 50-acre garden. Enjoy live performances by Selwyn Birchwood, Dave Capp Project and Mud Rooster Blues.
When: Feb. 14 at 6 p.m.
Where: Leu Gardens, 1920 N. Forest Ave.
Cost: Prices range from $13 to $22 depending on membership and time of purchase.
6. SAK Comedy Lab’s Valentine’s Show
What: A 90-minute version of SAK’s popular improv show with performers Chris Dinger and Mike Carr.
When: Feb. 14 at 5:30 p.m.
Where: SAK Comedy Lab, 29 S. Orange Ave.
7. Heavenly Love: Love Stories from the Night Sky
What: From Vega and Altair to Orion and Artemis, take a look at the love stories of the night sky.
When: Feb. 12 at 8:10 p.m. and Feb. 13 to Feb. 14 at 7 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.
Where: Emil Buehler Planetarium at Seminole State College, 100 Weldon Blvd.
Cost: $6 for adults, $4 with a student ID
8. Painting with a Twist
What: A two-hour couple’s painting course. Wine is available for those 21 and over.
When: Feb. 13 to Feb. 14. Times vary.

9. It’s A Trap! Escape Room Game
What: In a roughly one-hour gaming experience, escape from a variety of rooms with different themes such as “Super Villain: Rule the City,” “Superhero: Save the City,” “Magic Mirror” and “Imprisoned Creatures.”
When: Feb. 13 from 10 a.m. to 11:45 p.m. and Feb. 14 from 10 a.m. to 10:15 p.m.

10. Music at the Casa
What: Visit the historic museum and listen to live music while light refreshments are served. Singer, songwriter and guitarist Rev. Shawn Garvey will be performing.
When: Feb. 14 from noon to 3 p.m.
