New salon sells drinks, cuts hair
A new hair salon is coming to Orlando and it's sure to be a blowout.
Opening in Winter Park Aug. 23, Cherry Blow Dry Bar already has a location on North Mills Avenue in Orlando, as well as in Tallahassee.
According to its website, Cherry Blow Dry Bar specializes in blowouts and extensions.
"It's better to be the Sweet Cherry Best at two things, than sour grapes at many," the website states as to why the salon only specializes in two services.
Extensions range in price at $210 for a half head and $395 for a full head of extensions. Blowouts are $35.
Besides specializing in blowouts and extensions, the salon also offers updos and braids. But instead of simply sitting and waiting to look photo-ready after your appointment, Cherry Blow Dry Bar offers a complimentary glass of champagne to those who would like to sip while they sit, said Lynn Green, a Cherry Blow Dry Bar employee.
For those who might not want to drink alcohol while they get their hair done, a variety of beverages — including water, soda, coffee and tea — will be available, said Kristin Marquet, marketing representative with Marquet Media, LLC.
"It's a place for women to go to relax or get their their hair done before a big event, a Saturday night or a date," Marquet said. "It can be a social place or a place to relax."
According to the website, Cherry Blow Dry Bar was founded in 2008 in Sydney, Australia by Nathan Cuneen, CEO of Blow Dry Bar. Cherry Blow Dry Bar began franchising in the United States in 2013.
